About the Church
First Presbyterian Church of McMinnville is a midsize congregation with a heart for creative worship, service to our neighbors, connecting in relationships, earth care, and caring for one another. The church emphasizes strong congregational leadership, working closely with local and international partners, and inclusivity. Each ministry embraces the core values of being “God centered, Open, Courageous, and Loving” while pursuing a life that is “Together in Christ for All.”
About the Ministry
The ministry serves students from kindergarten through high school through programs like Kidventure, Sunday Children’s Time, and Vacation Bible School. A cornerstone of the student experience is the McMinnville Youth Collective (MYC), an ecumenical collaboration with neighboring churches. The ministry focuses on holistic faith development, equipping students to engage the world missionally and fostering growth as disciples of Jesus Christ.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a committed follower of Jesus Christ who takes initiative, works independently, and thrives in a collaborative, shared-leadership environment. They must be a relational leader capable of building trusting, caring relationships with children, youth, and adult volunteers.
About the Community
McMinnville is a charming city located in the heart of Oregon’s wine country, about one hour (either way) to Portland or the Oregon coast. McMinnville’s downtown is nationally recognized for its charm, restaurants, farmer’s market, outdoor music, and activities (all in walking distance from First Presbyterian Church). It offers a perfect blend of small-town feel, strong educational opportunities from Linfield University and Chemeketa Community College, and a robust public school system. Residents enjoy a high quality of life with beautiful parks, local festivals (Air Show, UFO Fest) and a strong sense of community pride.
