Responsibilities

Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time Director of Youth Ministry to lead our ministry for students in grades 6 through 12. This role focuses on building meaningful relationships with youth and their families, fostering a supportive community that encourages faith exploration and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Holistic Youth Engagement: Develop and implement programs that address the spiritual, emotional, and social development of youth.

  • Relationship Building: Establish strong connections with students and their families, providing support and guidance through various life stages and challenges.

  • Staff Collaboration: Work closely with church staff, attending weekly staff meetings (Tuesdays) and contributing to a team-oriented environment. Support staff are available to work in many adjacent areas like finance and communications.

  • Community Presence: Attend youth extracurricular activities (e.g., sports events, performances) to show support and maintain a visible presence in their lives.

Desired Skills

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in youth ministry or related fields.

  • Strong understanding of Wesleyan/United Methodist theology.

  • Ability to relate to and engage with individuals in a suburban context.

  • Residency within the greater Katy area

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
