The Director will cultivate relationships with students, parents, and volunteers, and create meaningful bridge-building connections within the church and broader community. About Christ Church: Christ Church is a 75-year-old congregation located in Kettering, a southern suburb of Dayton Ohio.  Christ Church has planted 4 campuses over the last 16 years.  It is located across the street from Kettering High School and 2 blocks away from Kettering Middle School.  The mission is to change lives through the transforming power of Christ and the goal is for each person to learn how to love like Jesus every day, where they live, work and play.  With its mission field, facilities, and leadership Christ Church is poised to make a difference in student’s lives throughout the southern Dayton region.

Position Status:

Full time (40 hours a week)

Position Description:

The Student Ministry Director is responsible for supporting the mission of Christ Church while developing the student ministry. The Director will lead the ministry by developing teams for the spiritual development of students in grades 6-12. This includes discipleship, leadership, service, retreats, events, and worship to strengthen their love for Jesus and community.

The major responsibilities and duties:

  1. Student Development
  • Worship – Hearts and lives surrendered to God
  • Grow – Minds that can understand and articulate the Christian faith
  • Serve – Hands to serve inside and outside of Christ Church
  1. Leadership Development
  • Raising up new student and adult leaders
  • Raising up new student and adult leaders to fit personal giftedness
  • Equip parents to be the primary disciplers of their kids at home
  • Develop and utilize a Parent Advisory Team to help gain feedback and discern the direction of the ministry
  1. Relationship Building
  • Students

  1. Bridge building
  • Between Kids Zone and Student Ministry
  • Between Student Ministry and Community Serve opportunities
  • Between all campuses of the Gem City Church Collective

Education & Experience:

  • Hands-on experience in student ministry.
  • Experience in recruiting, training and leading volunteers.
