Amanda Bowden's Story

One Story. Many Seasons of Impact.

Amanda Bowden first experienced the Ministry Leadership Center (then CYMT) as a teenager in a church whose youth minister was being formed through our graduate program. Years later, as a college student, she encountered MLC again through campus ministry. Now, as an adult leader, MLC is walking alongside her church as they ask hard questions about what their ministry needs to become.

Amanda’s story reminds us that MLC’s impact is often carried across years, relationships, churches, and seasons of calling. What begins in one ministry setting can continue shaping leaders and communities for years to come.

“This is a process that I have trust and faith in because I have trust and faith in these people.

Ministry Impact Beyond What We Ever Expected

For two decades, the Ministry Leadership Center has helped leaders grow in theological depth, practical wisdom, and long-term ministry health. These numbers tell part of the story, but the deeper impact is seen in the leaders who stayed, the churches that adapted, and the communities shaped by faithful ministry over time.

20th Anniversary Magazine

To mark this milestone, we created a special 20th anniversary magazine filled with stories of leaders, alumni, churches, partners, and moments that have shaped MLC’s first two decades.

Inside, you’ll find stories of formation, courage, calling, partnership, and change. These are the kinds of stories that remind us why this work matters.

A Story Still Being Written

Today, the Ministry Leadership Center brings together the faithful work of CYMT, YMI, and MLI into one unified organization serving Next Gen leaders, senior leaders, churches, nonprofits, and ministry partners across the country.

The names, programs, and reach have grown over time. But the heart of the work hasn’t changed: helping leaders and communities figure out what ministry asks of them right now.

Rooted in the Work of Faithful Leaders.

The Ministry Leadership Center’s story has always been about people.

It is the story of young leaders discovering their call, churches choosing to invest in deeper ministry, and communities learning how to grow, adapt, and lead with hope.

That hope has shaped this work from the beginning. Through mentors, coaches, faculty, board members, donors, alumni, and partners, MLC has helped leaders serve with courage, humility, and love for the sake of the next generation.

“I hope young people meet Jesus in a real and tangible way, and that they learn to live a life of love the way Jesus did.”

– Sarah Taylor (MLC Alum, Certificate ’19)
