In this six-week Advent series, let us proclaim Christ’s love and presence together, trusting that even now, God is forming a world renewed in love.
Advent calls us into a season of waiting—but not a quiet or passive kind of waiting. It’s a season filled with voices. It’s not only a time to remember those God called to bring Jesus into the world, but a time to become people who bear Christ in our everyday lives.
Our 2026 Advent Intergenerational Worship Series, A Voice Cries Out is six weeks of content meant for everyone in your congregation to experience together.
The stories of Advent don’t simply give us voices to listen to; they show us what it looks like to find and use our own. John the Baptist cries out in the wilderness, naming what needs to change. Mary proclaims a future where the lowly are lifted, and the world is turned toward justice.
Their witness becomes our invitation and our model. We’re called to use our voices to name what is broken, to proclaim what God is bringing into being, and to join in shaping a world that reflects Christ. Let us proclaim Christ’s love and presence together, trusting that even now, God is forming a world renewed in love.
At the Ministry Leadership Center, we believe that worship should reflect the fullness of the kin-dom of God and cultivate belonging in the midst of diverse identities and life experiences. Through our intergenerational worship offerings, it is our goal to design resources that enable ministry leaders to articulate and participate in a theological vision for worship that cultivates belonging across generations, receives the gifts of children and young people as integral voices in the worship space, and forms faith communally rather than in generational silos.
2026 Series Overview: “A Voice Cries Out”

The guide contains:
Advent Youth Curriculum
Students engage Advent through Bible study, small-group discussion, and hands-on activities. Lessons help teens wrestle with the themes of Advent.
Faith That Connects
Youth leaders can trust that their students are part of the larger church journey while still experiencing lessons designed just for them.
The Focus Table
The Focus Table is a low, wide table set up in your worship space, accessible to children of all ages, with enough room for several children to work at it side by side. It is not a craft table, and it is not a Sunday school station. It is a provocation—a carefully curated environment designed to invite children into the week’s theme through touch, exploration, and imagination.
Children of God Moments
Children of God Moment takes place in the service after the scripture reading. It is a brief, structured moment in which the leader of the moment engages with children at or near the Focus Table and shares what they are noticing with the congregation.
Intergenerational Proclamation
The Advent sermon series equips pastors with guiding Scripture texts, sermon insights, preaching help, and worship elements rooted in the story of Advent. Each message deepens your congregation’s anticipation for Christ while connecting across generations.
