Through the Benediction Project, The Ministry Leadership Center is developing resources to help children and adults explore faith together in worship.
reimagining worship together
Children bring curiosity, movement, and insight to the worshiping community. Their presence matters, and their participation can help the whole congregation grow in faith.
Through the Benediction Project, we are developing curriculum and practical tools to help children’s ministry leaders bring that belonging to life alongside pastors and families. These resources connect hands-on exploration with Scripture, sermons, and shared worship.
This project names that children can bring their whole selves to worship, right now, as they are.
What’s Taking Shape
Ideas that invite children to explore, move, wonder, and engage in worship.
Sermon prompts, prayers, and music suggestions that connect with children’s experiences and invite the whole congregation to worship together.
Take-home activities and conversation prompts that help parents and caregivers connect Sunday’s worship with everyday moments.
In Development
Congregations are currently prototyping an early version of the curriculum and sharing what they’re learning. Their experiences are helping shape resources that support children’s participation in worship and respond to the practical needs of ministry leaders and families.
As part of the prototype, participating congregations are receiving handcrafted materials designed to give children tangible ways to connect with what is happening in worship. These include a Tree of Life centerpiece and other sensory and hands-on resources that can be used in children’s spaces, praygrounds, pews, and other places where children participate in worship.
Congregations are exploring how these materials can help connect children’s curiosity and creativity with Scripture, sermons, prayer, and the wider worshiping community.
A full, 36-week curriculum will be ready in time for Advent 2027, bringing together resources for children’s participation in worship and faith formation across generations.
Leading up to that release, individual resources will become available for your congregation to use.
These resources will help connect biblical stories with shared worship, hands-on exploration, and conversations at home.
