Job Summary

Description

About the Church

First Presbyterian Church (FPC) of Augusta, Georgia, is an outreach-focused, deeply established downtown PCA congregation originally founded in 1804. Spanning a vibrant two-block campus in the heart of the city, the church family proudly describes its identity as biblical, traditional, growing, and well-resourced. Led by Senior Pastor Rev. Mike Hearon, FPC features an expansive, dedicated staff of over 57 individuals operating across highly active ministry departments. The church is exceptionally stable financially, operating with a comprehensive annual budget of $5.5 million and fostering a deeply welcoming atmosphere.

About the Ministry

The Youth Ministry at FPC is a highly vibrant and deeply loved program that serves 231 youth from the 6th through 12th grades, drawing weekly crowds of roughly 145 active participants. Ministry programs are uniquely housed in “The Depot,” a beautifully renovated former downtown transit station fully dedicated as an excellent, youth-friendly gathering space. Key weekly programs include Middle School “Upward Bound” on Mondays and High School “High Life” on Wednesdays, both blending high-energy large groups with intentional home-based small groups, alongside a dedicated Confirmation-style Inquirer’s Class for 6th graders. Backed by a healthy $290,000 annual allocation, the ministry boasts foundational assets like highly popular winter retreats, summer beach trips, and a thriving high school student leadership pipeline.

The Ideal Candidate

This individual must bring strong organizational and execution skills to the table, helping the team shift away from reactive planning into a sustainable, proactive ministry rhythm.
