This Unique Opportunity Allows You To:

Build something new. You’ll have the opportunity to create a unified vision and shape a ministry for the next generation.

Invest deeply in relationships. Rather than simply running programs, you’ll have the freedom to spend time with young people where they live, learn, and participate in the community – building the trust and relationships that make ministry meaningful.

Lead with a team. You won’t be doing ministry alone. You’ll work alongside committed volunteers, families, university interns, ministry teams, and church leaders who are ready to support and participate.

Help young people experience faith through action. From mission trips and camps to VBS, service, fellowship, and leadership opportunities, you’ll have the chance to create experiences where children and youth take ownership of their faith and discover how they can make a difference.

What does success look like at Salina First United Methodist Church?

The children and youth in this community will know they are seen, loved, valued, and connected – and families will know they have a trusted partner in their faith journey. Volunteers and interns will be equipped and excited to serve, programs will have clarity and purpose, and children’s and youth ministry will function as one connected, sustainable ministry. Most importantly, young people will be growing in their faith, taking ownership of their church community, serving others, and genuinely wanting to be there.

ABOUT SALINA FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

Salina FUMC is a welcoming, mission-minded church that believes hospitality is more than a ministry – it’s a culture. The congregation cares deeply for one another, opens its building to the community, supports local needs, and provides numerous opportunities for people of all ages to serve and lead. Fellowship, worship, Scripture-based preaching, music, Bible study, and shared life are important parts of the church community.

The church is active and engaged, with a strong willingness to grow and participate. Volunteers are stepping forward, families and students are eager to reconnect, and the congregation has demonstrated that children and youth are a priority through dedicated spaces, scholarships, camps, mission experiences, and ongoing support. Salina itself offers a welcoming community with arts and music, accessible transportation, strong preschool opportunities, and the amenities of a larger town.
