Student Minister

Job Summary

Description

The primary responsibility of the Student Minister will be to plan, coordinate, and supervise a comprehensive schedule of ministry for the youth in grades seven (7) through twelve (12) and provide pastoral care to the students in this age group.

  • Activities will include all areas of spiritual growth and service and a balanced combination of spiritual, recreational and educational objectives.
  • The Student Minister will work with a student leadership team and an adult advisory team to be responsible for Wednesday evening programs, youth Sunday School and other youth activities on a regular basis.
  • Plan and accomplish effective youth retreats, mission trips, special activities, including: transportation, meals, housing and programming.
  • Plan for and secure resource materials necessary for the successful fulfillment of planned youth activities.
  • The Student Minister will plan and help carry out fund raising projects by the youth.
  • Coordinate and train volunteers and chaperones for all youth ministry events and programs.
  • Submit in writing to the church secretary information regarding all youth-related activities in order that such information may be included in calendar and other church wide communications, Board of Stewards reports, etc.
  • Prepare and submit to the Finance Committee, an annual budget sufficient to finance the youth programs of the church.
  • Submit all documentation in a timely manner as requested by Finance Committee to monitor the expenditures and budget of the church.
  • Attend sporting events, musicals, band concerts, etc. to support the students.
  • Provide pastoral care to students as needed, maintaining confidentiality as appropriate.
  • The Student Minister will coordinate and implement confirmation along with the assistance of the Senior Pastor.
