Description

The Tween Ministry Coordinator at Grace United Methodist Church serves students in grades 4–6 and plays a vital role in bridging the gap between children’s and youth ministry. Reporting to the Director of Intergenerational Ministries, this position provides leadership, care, and spiritual formation for tweens and their families through regular programming, special events, and intergenerational opportunities.

  • Serve as the primary leader and relational presence for tweens (grades 4–6).
  • Lead and facilitate Sunday morning Sunday School each week using established curriculum.
  • Partner with the Director of Intergenerational Ministries and the Intergenerational Ministries team to shape Wednesday night content and lead tween gatherings.
  • Plan and lead all tween-specific events and retreats in collaboration with the Director of Intergenerational Ministries.
  • Assist in recruiting, equipping, and scheduling volunteers for tween ministry activities.
  • Participate in a weekly planning meeting with the Director of Intergenerational Ministries.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with families through appropriate channels (email, social media, etc.).
  • Attend worship services and church-wide intergenerational events to help foster community connection and visibility of the tween ministry.

  • Embrace Christian discipleship and United Methodist theology.
  • Passion for working with tweens and building age-appropriate spiritual development.
  • Experience in ministry or education with children or youth preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate as part of a team and take initiative in leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a collaborative team member.
  • Fully engaged in the life of the congregation, fostering relationships across age groups.
