Guide youth to becoming deeper disciples of Jesus Christ through teaching and Bible study
Lead weekly youth gatherings and occasional mission projects (with the assistance of parent volunteers); Order needed materials and coordinate logistics for activities
Ensure a safe, compassionate environment for the youth to have fun, learn about God, and grow as people
Facilitate communication for upcoming events with youth and parents
Coordinate parent and church member volunteers for weekly events and Sunday School
Equip volunteers to be successful in assisting with youth
Attend summer activities such as UM Army mission trip and Lakeview church camp with youth (additional summer bonus provided)
Plan youth-led fundraisers as needed (all fundraisers must be approved by the Pastor and Board of Stewards)
This role reports to the Pastor
Responsibilities
Practicing and dedicated disciple of Jesus Christ
High school diploma (Some college preferred)
Valid Driver’s License
Passed background check
Be present for approximately six hours per week in Rockdale, Texas at St. John’s UMC
