Advent is a journey of preparation, inviting us to watch, wait, walk, and wonder as we move toward Christ’s Incarnation. This Advent resource provides tools to help you find meaning along the way for all ages within your entire congregation. The Youth and Adult curriculum utilizes our innovative Holy Disruptions Theological Reflection model, while the children’s moments use the Seek and Find and Show and Tell method of learning. Plus, you also receive sermon guides to help preachers shape worship around Advent’s journey of wandering. All resources are thematically consistent throughout each week.Â

This four-week Advent series guides adults on an intentional journey toward Bethlehem, moving beyond the season’s usual consumer distractions into a deeper spiritual path. Each week, Watching, Waiting, Walking, and Wondering, draws participants into the story of the Incarnation, embracing preparation, shared meals and stories, and imagining how to live out God’s hope daily. The youth curriculum corresponds with the Adult Curriculum.
Using the Advent lectionary texts, these four sermon and worship guides help pastors approach the scriptures and stories of Advent with fresh perspective. Each sermon guide offers thorough biblical exegesis and reflection questions to support the creation of meaningful, culturally relevant Advent sermons. Complementing the sermons, each week includes two worship elements—such as a Call to Worship or benediction—designed to align with the weekly theme. These guides correspond with the Children’s Moment Guides.
This Advent series of Children’s Moments invites young participants to create a visual art installation in the sanctuary, starting on Christ the King Sunday and culminating on Christmas Eve. Each week, children receive paper cutouts to respond to that week’s prompt through drawing or writing, returning them to add to the panels. Through each addition to the art, the children and the congregation can visually mark how the children have found signs of Christ’s incarnation in their everyday lives. Families also receive take-home bookmarks to continue the “Seek and Find” reflection at home. The children’s moments correspond to the Sermon and Worship Guides.
This four-week Advent series invites participants to journey with intention toward Bethlehem, shifting from the season’s usual consumer distractions to a deeper spiritual path. Each week centers on a theme —Watching, Waiting, Walking, and Wondering —guiding individuals into the story of the Incarnation. Along the way, participants will learn to embrace waiting as a form of preparation, connect through shared meals and stories, and imagine how to live out God’s hope in their daily lives. This journey offers students a fresh way to experience Advent in one that not only draws them into the Gospel story but also inspires lasting transformation. The youth ministry curriculum corresponds to the Adult curriculum.
