Do you love Jesus, have a heart for students, and feel called to shape the next generation in faith? Hendersonville First United Methodist Church (HFUMC) is looking for a Director of Student Ministries to lead our middle school, high school, and college-age students with energy, creativity, and care.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Loves God and loves teenagers
  • Is excited to teach, mentor, and walk with students in their faith journey
  • Can build strong relationships with students, families, and volunteers
  • Has a passion for the local church and ideally comes from a Methodist background
  • Is organized, dependable, and willing to lead and grow a ministry with strong congregational support

What you’ll be doing:

  • Creating fun, meaningful weekly programming (Sunday mornings, Sunday nights, Wednesday nights, retreats, missions, trips)
  • Building relationships with students and showing up in their world (schools, games, coffee chats)
  • Leading a team of volunteers who care deeply about student discipleship
  • Partnering with parents and church staff to help students feel known, loved, and equipped for life with Jesus

You’ll join a supportive staff team that values collaboration, prayer, and fun, alongside a core group of committed volunteers, ready to build something meaningful with your ideas and leadership.

HFUMC is located across the street from the largest middle and high schools in Sumner County, and we’re ready to keep growing our reach. With over 300 weekly worshipers and a heart for missions, discipleship, and service, our church is a vibrant community eager to invest in young people.

Position Details:

  • Full-time preferred (salaried with benefits), but part-time applicants welcome
  • Salary based on experience
  • Start date flexible
  • Experience is a plus, but passion and calling matter more
