Holy Disruptions Confirmation invites youth not just to learn about Jesus, but to develop and embody the moral vision for life that Christ casts in the Sermon on the Mount. It’s rooted in our Holy Disruptions Theological Reflection Model. Treating Confirmation as a sacred journey of transformation—not just education—youth will explore identity, wrestle with real questions, and encounter the living Christ.

This 36-week youth ministry Confirmation curriculum, with opening and closing retreats, was created by a diverse team of seasoned youth ministry practitioners who were dissatisfied with traditional Confirmation resources.
It’s easy to lead, accessible to both volunteers and pastors, and includes denominational content that highlights key doctrines and practices. Designed for grades 7–12, Holy Disruptions Confirmation equips youth to live their faith with curiosity, courage, and compassion — long after Confirmation Sunday.
Opening Retreat:
Ideally, the opening retreat takes place before or within the first month of Confirmation classes, when the Confirmation journey really comes to life. Students will get a clear picture of what Confirmation is all about and be introduced to the Holy Disruption (HD) Theological Reflection model, the framework that will guide every session throughout the year. Through community-building activities, your group will get the chance to form bonds and cohesion that will matter in the Confirmation process. This retreat focuses on the foundations that youth need for Confirmation. By the time the retreat wraps up, students will leave feeling connected, equipped, and excited for what’s ahead!
Section 1: Weeks 1-4
Section 2: Weeks 5-8
Section 3: Weeks 9-14
Section 4: Advent 1-4
Section 5: Weeks 15-16
Section 6: Weeks 17-19
Section 7: Weeks 20-23
Section 8: 24-25
Section 9: Ash Wednesday, Lent 1-6
Closing Retreat:
Ideally taking place near the end of the Confirmation journey, the closing retreat is a meaningful and celebratory moment that brings everything full circle. Students will have the space to reflect on how far they’ve come, looking back on the entire journey through the Holy Disruptions Theological Reflection model and recognizing the ways they’ve grown in faith along the way. This is also the moment where students are invited to honestly name where they are in their faith and make their own decision about whether they feel called to be confirmed — and that’s okay either way! Those moving forward will gain a clear understanding of what membership looks like and what it means to commit to a faith community. This retreat focuses on honoring the process, celebrating each student’s journey, and sending them forward with confidence. By the time the retreat wraps up, students will leave feeling seen, celebrated, and ready for whatever comes next!
A Rite of Choice Service
This worship service guide will set the stage for a moment of reflection, giving youth space to decide whether they are ready to be Confirmed. Done in a judgment-free way, this service sets the stage for students to discern where they are alongside their peers, guided by their experience of God’s action in confirmation, as an act of worship rather than a box to be checked. This can be done in the final retreat or as a standalone worship experience.
Holy Disruptions series are designed to delve into the unique experiences of today’s youth, spark deep theological reflection, and foster transformative discussions. Our three-part methodology empowers students to align with God’s vision and desires for the world.
