Job Summary

Responsibilities

  • Lead and Develop Age-Appropriate Ministry Programs
    Plan and implement engaging and spiritually formative programs for children (birth–5th grade) and youth (6th–12th grade), including Godly Play, Sunday school, and youth group activities.
  • Foster Relational and Inclusive Ministry
    Build authentic relationships with children, youth, and families by creating a welcoming and inclusive environment that honors diverse backgrounds, faith stages, and identities.
  • Collaborate with Church Leadership and Volunteers
    Work closely with Rev. Charles, staff, and volunteers to align ministry goals with the overall mission of Grace Episcopal; recruit, support, and train volunteers, especially for children’s education.
  • Support Outreach and Community Engagement
    Encourage youth and children to invite friends, participate in intergenerational events, and grow in service through mission projects and outreach opportunities.

Desired Skills

  • Warm, approachable, and spiritually mature; able to meet children and youth where they are in their faith journey while modeling an inclusive, Christ-centered approach.
  • Preferably 2+ years of experience (volunteer or paid); familiarity with child development, adolescent behavior, and Christian education principles; summer camp or volunteer experience is a plus.
  • Comfortable in a progressive Episcopal setting; values theological exploration and full inclusion, including LGBTQ+ youth; respectful of Episcopal liturgy and open to various interpretations of scripture.
  • Ability to plan, communicate clearly, and manage multiple weekly programs and events; confident in stepping into an established ministry with grace and fresh ideas.
